9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promises, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any shall perish, but that all should come to repentance

What a promise, God does not forget, his promises to us are the foundation of everything that the child of God believes in. In the Garden, Adam believed the promise and rejoiced because he knew the nature of God and that he would not forget. Abraham believed and it was counted unto him for righteousness not because he saw the fulfillment but because he knew the nature of God.
Do you have trouble, believe the promise “I will never leave or forsake you.” Feel unloved, Matthew 10:29-30 you are more than the sparrows he loves. These promises strengthen, they shelter, they encourage because the one who makes the promise does not forget his promises. They are the sure foundation of heaven, all suspended on the promise that what God has created he saw as Good and you are carefully and wonderfully made. What a promise.
