19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.

20 For we cannot* but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

Let us Consider the last verse today in our selection. The court had asked the disciples not to tell of the things they had seen but the answer was how can we not. Would that we would be so inspired by our walk with Christ that we can do nothing but tell of his Love towards us. We as humans have the greatest experience that can happen to man, and we remain silent. Satan has convinced us that we will be persecuted if we tell of his Love. The world tells us they have a “good” enough relationship and yet we hide the glory of our Lord from them.

First, Christ tells us plainly that they hate him, and they will hate us. Not as individuals but because a righteous life convicts those that are lost in unrighteousness. Our lives should be a source of Light in this world. With that light, the darkness is revealed, and sin is proclaimed, and this hurts them. The hurt they feel is because our life shows the difference between us and them and Sin is not easy to live with when revealed. Don’t back from this, embrace this, this is the first action to bring souls to Christ. We have to first know we are lost to be saved.

Second, the most effective witness a Child of God can have is not to stand on a street corner and proclaim God. The witness first must be made in our Life before it can be made with the mouth. We must tell of the good things God has done in our actions and in our speech. If we leave one out, then our Witness is compromised and will fall short of the goal. The life we have is by his grace and this must be shown. Satan wants everyone to think we are no better than anyone else, and in a way, he is right we are all the same lost souls that walk this Earth. There is a major difference and that is Grace. If we have it, we must show it.

Finally, the people that live around you have one thing in common, YOU. They may never see your pastor. They may never see the prayer warrior at church or the testifier who lights up a service, but they see you. You must tell of the glory of Christ so that they see something that shows them you are not the same as everyone else. You can reach them if you have unified Life with a vocal testimony. You have had an experience that changed you from the inside out be not silent anymore tell of the Love that God showed you at the cross of Calvary. Proclaim the miracles he has done in and around your life. Tell of the wonder he has in your eyes for when the life backs the words you will see great things happen.
