15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

Let us today consider this verse. In these troubled times it would be easy to get caught up in the flow of the world and get swept away with worry, fear and doubt. It is inevitable that we will get overwhelmed with the changing issues of the day at some point or another, but if we consider what Christ said in John 14:27 “peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”. In this let us hold fast. We have peace. This world’s current crisis will come and go and tomorrow there will be another one for sure this also the Bible has said until the end of time these shall be but let us have peace.
Let us hold fast in hope. Paul tells us “if in this life only we have hope in Christ we are of all men most miserable” 1 Co. 15:19 so let us hope “for where your treasure is there will your heart be also” Mat. 6:21. When we get there the current tribulations and trials will seem as nothing. We will be in the perfection of the spirit, in the perfect body before a loving God and we will finally be complete so let us hold fast in this hope. The psalmist said it best I believe with this “…weeping may endure for the night but joy cometh in the morning.” Psalms 30:5.
Let us hold fast to Love. In these times more than ever we need a people to show love. Not just love of man but of the perfect nature and love of God. We need to be the lighthouse and beacon that is set on the hill showing the love of God to a lost and dying world. The love that God has placed inside you is waiting to shine forth in a glorious display of all the hope and promise that He has so in these times or rather in all times shine my Brother. Shine my Sister telling the world that it is not hopeless for you know where there is hope. Shine Church that the love of God is felt in everything you do.
Finally, stand fast, this world is temporary we are just pilgrims and strangers looking for a far better country than this. This world is being destroyed by the very same curse that condemned us, but we found deliverance. God is not slack concerning his promise as men count slackness so hold fast, he has not forgotten you nor forsaken you hold fast, for he will come as the morning sun shining bright in your life hold fast. Hold fast for our friends and family need us to hold the line for their strength and courage to hold. Hold fast.
